Privacy Policy

Courtmetrics ("we", "us", "our") is a private badminton league management application developed and operated by Courtmetrics. This Privacy Policy explains how Courtmetrics collects, uses, stores, and shares information — including data obtained through Google OAuth — when you use our platform. By logging in and using Courtmetrics, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Google Account Data (via OAuth): When you sign in using Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password, and we request only the minimum scopes required for authentication.
• Match & Game Data: Scores, session dates, player pairings, and match results you or administrators enter into the system.
• Usage Data: Basic interaction data (e.g., pages visited, features used) to maintain platform reliability and performance.

The Google user data we receive (your name and email address) is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• To authenticate your identity and create or manage your session within Courtmetrics.
• To display your name alongside your player profile and match statistics within the league.
• To associate your account with the correct player record and match history.
• To enable role-based access control (e.g., distinguishing admin users from regular members).

We do not use your Google data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the core league management functionality of Courtmetrics.

Courtmetrics does not sell, rent, or trade your Google user data to any third parties.

We do not share your Google user data with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use a third-party service provider platform to host and operate Courtmetrics. Your data is processed in accordance with our service provider's data handling and security practices solely to operate the application.
• Legal obligations: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

Your name and league statistics are visible to other authenticated members of your league within the app. Your email address is only visible to administrators and is never displayed publicly.

Your Google account data (name and email address) is stored securely within the Courtmetrics platform for the duration of your membership in the league. Data is retained for as long as you are an active user.

We do not store your Google OAuth tokens beyond your active session. OAuth access tokens are used only at the time of login to authenticate your account and are not persisted to our database.

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. To do so, contact the league administrator directly. Upon a valid deletion request, your name, email, and associated player data will be removed from our records.

You may also revoke Courtmetrics' access to your Google account at any time by visiting your Google Account Permissions page. Revoking access will sign you out of Courtmetrics and prevent future logins until access is re-granted.

Access to Courtmetrics is protected by Google OAuth 2.0 authentication. We use industry-standard security practices to protect data at rest and in transit. Only authenticated and authorised users can access the platform. Administrators are responsible for managing user access.

Courtmetrics' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting the league administrator. Where applicable, you have rights under local privacy legislation including the Australian Privacy Act 1988.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
